Raised in a moderately successful shipping/merchant family, he spent much of his youth on barges and small ships working the lines, moving cargo, and later, helping to run smaller vessels in his father’s group.

Once he was old enough to, his father purchased him an education with the Heironeon order. Educated with them, Wat also showed a close tie to Heironeous and an affiliation with the healing powers that flowed from his contact. Which is not to say he failed to learn the combat arts as well.

His affiliation with the Axe-Wielders was born of his loosely-held belief that the classical take on Heironeous was cleaner, clearer, and austere.

At Westkeep, he hired on as a sailor again, to roam the area, earn his keep, keep his sailor hands and skills fresh, and look for anything that might need to be dealt with in the name of Heironeous.

Of course the first thing presented was a battle with Deathwalkers, being knocked unconscious, imprisoned by them, all with an eye towards sacrificing Wat to their evil god.
